Tamar Kornitzer

Tamar Kornitzer is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a specialization in children and families, and contextual systems. She has practiced in a variety of settings such as emergency room behavioral health, school and after-school programs, groups, and in-home therapies. Tamar has extensive
experience working with young adults and adults that present with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and trauma. She is passionate about working with children as well and has a strong leaning towards using models of play and expressive therapies to make them feel comfortable.

Tamar uses an eclectic and case-by-case approach to evidenced based treatment modalities but has found motivational interviewing, internal family systems (IFS), and strengths-based approaches to be key in facilitating the healing process and empowering others to be the best version of themselves. She works to establish therapeutic relationships to support meaningful change and strives to provide a safe and non-judgmental environment that fosters greater happiness and success in their lives.
