Greetings! My name is David Eppner.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor in CT. Additionally, I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker-CP in South Carolina. My practice is primarily adults aged 18 on up, though I am open to working with older adolescents.
A little bit about myself, I have over 15 years of experience, in a variety of settings, including in-home, telehealth, and outpatient clinics, in treating, depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, personality disorders, trauma, grief and loss, adoption, and infertility related issues, co-occurring disorders, and substance and alcohol dependence. I am clinically trained in CBT, DBT, TF CBT, RBT, MST, ICT MI, and MET. My approach is strength-based, patient focused, and humanistic. I think of creative approaches and utilize various skills to help my patients. My goal is to assist you to develop healthy coping skills while building a strong therapeutic relationship. I have worked with people of all backgrounds, ethnicities, male, female, nonbinary, various sexual orientations, and genders. I have always taken the approach that each person is unique. As an open-minded supportive therapist, I want to truly hear your stories and understand the systems that create stress to help you heal, move forward in life, and achieve your desires.
I am a graduate of Tulane University (BS Psychology) Argosy University (MA, Forensic Psychology), and Louisiana State University (Master of Social Work), as well as completing postgraduate courses in Assessment and Testing and Evaluation with Southern Connecticut State University. I live with my wife, and two Siberian cats in the greater Hartford area. I enjoy cooking (I’ve had 5 recipes published), traveling, museums, the theater, reading, skiing, golfing, and daily walks during the winter, and 25–30 mile bike rides during the summer. I am an avid sports fan (Yankees, Rangers, Knicks, Giants, Pats, and Saints).
